ESX 4 shows as disconnected in Virtual Center

Issue

ESX server shows disconnected from the vCenter server, go to the following path in ESX to search the logs for : /var/log/ messages, and look for the following error:

watchdog-hostd: PID file /var/run/vmware/watchdog-hostd.PID not found

Solution:

Run vmware-watchdog -r hostd, If you get /var/run/vmware/watchdog-hostd.PID not found , Delete /var/run/vmware/vmware-hostd.PID

Run ps -auwwwwx | grep “vmware-hostd” , Delete the process that exists. For example: [root@xxxxx root]# ps -auwwwwx | grep “vmware-hostd” root 1934 0.9 16.4 136900 44308 ? S Jul19 194:01 /usr/lib/vmware/hostd/vmware hostd /etc/vmware/hostd/config.xml -u root 31287 0.0 0.2 3708 676 pts/0 S 15:04 0:00 grep vmware-hostd [root@xxxxx root]# kill -9 1934
Check if the timestamp of the file watchdog-hostd.PID has changed
ls -lah /var/run/vmware/watchdog-hostd.PID
Run service mgmt-vmware restart
Make sure that /var/run/vmware/vmware-hostd.PID was recreated

Every job I have had of any importance I’ve always been driven to get more money, a new title, more responsibility, and so on. While this has worked out for the most part in each place of employment, I have noticed a trend of it also fucking me dry in the holiest of holes.

Being the “go to guy” is a pile of shit. Basically you are just the guy that is expected to do extra work and keep propping up the fails of the less than stellar surrounding cast. Once you do it once you’re screwed for the duration of your employment there. So then you leave, go somewhere else, make a good impression the first couple weeks and fuck yourself again.

Why is it so hard to just be happy with average performance at the workplace? Why do I have to always want more, get it, and then become miserable AGAIN?

We just had our shit pushed in by Green Bay AGAIN. We haven’t won a fucking game there since a few months after the FUCKING COLD WAR ENDED. Wtf did we do to deserve this taint lick of a team?

Couldn’t even count on fucking HANSON to get a couple field goals for my fantasy team. Don’t fucking ask why I have Hanson as my kicker. The plan made sense in my head at the time.
